Check Please! Steve Patterson's misadventures part 1.

Blog_loser_2This is the first of a series of Podcats that I was going to call "filthy Fridays with Steve Patterson." Instead this one is appropriately titled "Check Please," right out of his own mouth. He is indiscriminate with what he says and who he says he did it with as you will hear.

The covert recording was made by an informant while at a meeting with Patterson on January 26, 2007 in Albuquerque New Mexico.

Israeli self-defense being taught to the security industry in Albuquerque. Summit Self-Defense.

Image3_lowres_3Summit Self-Defense has deployed the HaganaH FIGHT program into its Albuquerque training academy. Classes are available twice per week on Tuesday and Thursday from 12-1 P.M.

All security officers are welcome to attend these classes and the price is $105 per month for unlimited classes. There will be additional opportunities for ground survival and Israeli shooting classes for students. The HaganaH FIGHT program is the evolution of all Israeli martial arts and is the perfect self defense program designed for law enforcement professionals. It is designed for adults, requires no uniforms and doesn't have a traditional belt system. Professional DVD's are distributed at the beginning of training to further prepare each officer for the training.

Summit's Matt Knaub is conducting most of the training. He is a successful professional cage fighter who holds belts and medals. He is an expert in Ju-Jitsu and a certified HaganaH FIGHT Instructor. Matt has a great work ethic and teaches boxing, kick boxing, ground fighting and other fighting arts. He is the best security hand-to-hand self defense trainer in New Mexico- hands down.

I will also provide some training to our New Mexico Academy. I am a certified HaganaH FIGHT, Ground Survival, Israeli Tactical Knife Fighting and Israeli Combat Shooting Instructor.

Summit Security & Investigation also operates a state accredited security training academy with classes weekly. This is a much lower cost alternative to the UNM courses and we offer a more specialized selection of courses for NM level 1, 2 or 3 guards. We offer all additional weapon certifications- OC, baton, taser, shotgun, patrol rifle, advanced patrol tactics, CPR/First Aid and other courses. Fightlogo

Interested officers can call 505-255-6063 for upcoming training dates or check Summit's web site. I am not accepting applications from employees of United Security, Legit Security, Elyte Security, Casados Group, Advance On-site Security, American Security, National Security or Solid Steel Security. Applicants must become a member of the New Mexico Security Association and have a clean criminal record to attend classes. We are seeking high quality offers for state certified training. Summit's officers receive much of the training for free or at a highly discounted rate.

Come learn something new from the best in the industry.

New Mexico Security Guards- have you ever wondered why you don't have your license? Many of Albuquerque's security companies don't license their guards in violation of the law.

Blogthumbs_down
I learned that many of Albuquerque's security companies don't have licensed and registered guards despite employing over two hundred officers. Only one of the companies that I checked even had an approved training curriculum.

Guards- have you wondered why you never received your registration card issued by the state? Maybe you have even asked you boss... If you don't believe me- check yourself out on the state's guard registration web site.

Legit Security has no registered guards but employs somewhere around fifty officers.

United Security has no registered guards but employs somewhere around twenty five officers.

The Casados Group Security has no registered guards but employs at least fifteen officers.

Advance On-Site Protection has no registered guards but employs at least twenty five officers. (state RLD states that some guards may be registered despite providing me with information stating that it had no registered guards)

There are some companies that I have failed to mention and I am working on more in depth investigations for their activities. I have already conducted surveillance on these and other companies and obtained video, pictures and other evidence of their activities. I have obtained employee rosters and investigated how many companies provide no training, certification, licensing and background checks to their guards.

This is a big problem and it effects the guard and especially the security consumer who hires the guard company. These clients are liable for the guard, their background and lack of training as the case may be. The guard knows that he/she should be licensed but continues to work for a company that is outside the law. Why?

Isn't this getting kind of old? When are you going to wise up?

The state provided me with this information and received it today. They state that some guards may not be "registered" with a company if they have transferred in from another one. Guards will be registered with a specific company if it is their first employee registration. The state calls this "pre-requisite field in our database that indicates where the guard is working upon initial licensure."

The state now says that some guards are registered who work for Advance On-site Protection although some of the applicants for guards submitted were denied due to the guards having a bad criminal record. All of this in spite of them providing me with documentation that the company has no registered guards. How can anyone know what is going on?

I think some thought I went away while I was conducting in depth surveillance, documenting evidence and learning to do POD casts. Stay tuned.... It is going to get interesting.

Lost but not forgotten... Old names, old faces and funny updates. NM Security Industry

Blogupdte
Sometimes it is nice to see what is going on with all of the old files. I write about so mush on this blog it is easy to forget about the old investigations. Look below for a quick update on some of the people/companies that I have featured on this blog.

- Bobbie McMullin (Pimp running a security business as a front)- he got himself arrested arrested for violating the conditions of his release on August 14, 2008. He is back in the slammer with no bond. His wife filed for divorce and got $25,000 per month alimony. Man- business must be good.

- Fileberto Baca (former APD Sergeant indicted for fraud)- his case is moving along toward trial. He still asserts his innocence despite all of the evidence stacked against him. He supposedly doesn't have involvement with any security company. He still has a PPO license issued by the state even though they signed affidavits stating that he forged RLD documents. I still don't understand that one.

- Brad Simmerman- He was released from jail into "community corrections." He still has the additional charges pending for the drug possession.

- George Davis- Has a trial date set for his arrest on October 2, 2008. I'm sure he would appreciate all the support he can get from the security industry. National Security is out of business.

- Michael Angelo Sanchez- is still walking the streets and undoubtedly doing security. He still has an active warrant through Metro Court. I am not sure what Probation and Parole is thinking on this one?

- Sold Steel Security- is still in business providing services to Albuquerque's car dealers despite all of the information and evidence that we have provided. The company's former employees are still being denied Medicare.

- Legit Security- got bailed out by Atlas Resources. They got some funding and were able to pay all of their back wages to employees, get WC insurance and stay in business with the help of this new financier. We'll see how long this lasts.

- G1 Global Solutions (Gil Baca Jr)- is seeking the use of a ranch in New Mexico for use in its counter terrorist training operation. Seriously! I'm sot sure of NM ranch land but I heard there was some ocean-front land in Arizona available.

- Better Business Bureau- got its web site updated and doesn't seem to have active members that aren't licensed security companies.

- Steve Patterson and United Security- still have a handful of lawsuits pending about the towing/booting procedures. His attorney stated that he is having to deal with NM RLD on license issues raised by this blog. I think that it had more to do with his apparent illegal conduct in obtain his licenses and some seriously expedited service by Donna Tafoya at the PI Board. I have a feeling that more will unfold in this story as the state enforces its laws.

- The Casados Group- got its WC insurance. Hopefully its guards leave their shotguns at home...

- NM RLD- is pursuing unlicensed activity and I expect that they will be issuing some cease and desist orders. They have referred a bunch of cases to the AG. They seem to be doing compliance investigations on firms. They are holding meetings on the training regulations and making changes or proposed changes to the requirements. I think they have their hands full and hopefully they will get it all strait.

New mexico guard training regulations change again... Is anyone confused yet? New Mexico Security.

I received this e-mail from NMCOPPS and I spent some time looking into NM RLD's web site, which I provided the link below. It appears that the training regulations for the guards has changed again although no official law or other regulation has gone into effect.....

NMCOPSS News - August 16, 2008

Why don't security companies train their guards? Albuquerque Security

I am compiling a lot of information on many New Mexico Security companies that don't provide training for their guards as the law requires (and morality). I am researching one company that employees 14 guards and hasn't ever provided any training whatsoever. The company requires them to carry handcuffs, baton and OC Spray but doesn't give training. Most of the employees are not licensed with the state. Is this shocking?

I am researching another very BIG company that has had one of its guards killed on duty. This company hires a person and just tells the new employee where to show up. They issue them a uniform shirt and a schedule and that is it. No phone or radio. The guard isn't checked on all night by a supervisor or anyone. This is common practice with this company.

There is a security company using an unlicensed Firearms Instructor that has been around in this industry for years with fake training certificates. If you are a guard who has received training but not your firearms card then call the NM PI Board and ask why. If you think that you received training from this fake then call the PI Board and ask if he is certified to teach security guards in New Mexico. Don't be stupid. Check it out.

There are many, many more. I need more information as I am sending all of this to Regulation and Licensing. Please continue to email me with your information....

Casados Group update. Have you seen this unlicensed employee? Albuquerque Security

Blog_casados_smoking
Please take a look at this APD police report detailing how a video security company monitored Casados Group employee, Tyrone Perry-Hill, and his girlfriend in what he described as "smoking narcotics." The cops came and found no marijuana and Philip Casados came and made a statement to the police.

RLD should've came to verified that Tyrone Perry-Hill wasn't licensed with the state. I wonder if he was carrying a gun?
Download CasadosPRPerry.pdf

The police report clearly indicates that Perry-Hill was an employee of Casados and that Casados personally acknowledged that he was an employee. This occured on July 19, 2008. Is Casados exempt from the RLD licensing law? I guess it doesn't matter if he never gets caught.

Tyrone Perry-Hill has been arrested four times. He was convicted of Prostitution and Possession of Marijuana. There is an elusive case # CR-2005-51117 where he was arrested on November 9, 2005 but I can't find information on this case. He was booked into the Metro Detention Center.

I would appreciate anyone's help in obtaining information about this case and the charges.
Download CasaosPerryArrestRec.pdf

It is definitely a small world as I found a civil case where Perry-Hill was named as a Defendant right along side Bobbie McMullin. If you forgot, he was the PIMP who was operating a prostitution ring out of a security company that I reported to RLD as operating illegally years ago. McMullin was indicted. I don't know what the connection between Perry-Hill and McMullin is but there is definitely something as evidenced by the case together (CV-2000-09454). I remember getting a death threat from a man who said he was "McMullin's former bodyguard." I guess they like to keep their "business" quiet.

The Casados Group took the Worker's Compensation Administration's order to heart and finally obtained Worker's Compensation Insurance to protect their workers effective July 17, 2008, as evidenced on the WC Administration's on-line system. I should note that it took until July 25, 2008 for this insurance police to appear in the WC's system. It is good that a company who has been operating for years and employing more than three workers finally decided to cut profits and comply with the law....
